About CMRITO

We are the regulatory body for medical radiation and imaging technologists in Ontario. Our primary responsibility is to serve and protect the public interest by establishing standards of practice for the profession and setting entry to practice requirements for medical radiation and imaging technologists. Additionally, we ensure the continued competence of our members through our quality assurance program and address concerns from the public through our complaints and discipline process.

About Our Registrants

Our registrants are made up of medical radiation and imaging technologists who have been extensively trained to create diagnostic images of patient’s bodies or administer radiation therapy, in five specialties: radiography, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance and diagnostic medical sonography. The CMRITO public register provides trustworthy, relevant and up-to-date information about our registrants.

Mission and Vision

Our mission is mandated by government legislation. It is to regulate the profession of medical radiation and imaging technology to serve and protect the public interest. You can find out more about the role of CMRITO by watching this short video.

Council and Committees

Our governing Council and its statutory committees are made up of registrants from the profession and members of the public who are appointed by the government. Our Council meetings are open to the public and members to attend.
