Operational and Governance Reports

The College Performance Measurement Framework (CPMF) is an annual reporting tool developed by the Ministry of Health for all health regulatory colleges to help evaluate how well they fulfill their mandate to protect the public interest.  The CPMF has been designed to strengthen the accountability and oversight of Ontario’s health regulatory Colleges by providing information that is transparent, consistent, and aligned across all Colleges. This fourth iteration of the CPMF report reflects work completed in 2023, provides a broad overview of the College's governance and operations, and was submitted in March 2024.

The Ministry of Health has developed an annual reporting tool for all health regulatory colleges to help evaluate how well we are fulfilling our mandate to protect the public interest. The College Performance Measurement Framework has been designed to strengthen the accountability and oversight of Ontario’s health regulatory Colleges by providing information that is transparent, consistent, and aligned across all Colleges. This third iteration of the CPMF was refined based on feedback from Colleges and experts resulting in the addition of benchmarks. The tool focuses on areas of improvement in the health regulatory system and identifying commendable practices to improve consistency across Colleges. CMRITO's report for work completed by the College in 2022 was submitted in March 2023.

The second iteration of the College Performance Management Framework (CPMF) was launched for the 2021 reporting cycle and has been designed to further strengthen the accountability and oversight of Ontario’s health regulatory Colleges by providing information that is transparent, consistent and aligned across all Colleges on their performance in serving the public’s interest. In 2020, the Ministry of Health developed a new annual reporting tool for all health regulatory colleges that helps Ontario’s health profession regulators evaluate how well we are fulfilling our mandate to protect the public interest and continually improving accountability, transparency, and oversight. The College Performance Measurement Framework (CPMF) provides colleges with the opportunity to report on how we carry out our regulatory functions. The Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC) has requested stakeholders to provide feedback on the application for the regulation of diagnostic sonographers, submitted by the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS). The College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) welcomes the opportunity to provide HPRAC with our comments on the application for the regulation of diagnostic sonographers and the recommendations and positions set out in the submission
 

The Honourable Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care has requested all of Ontario's health regulatory colleges to submit a report to the Minister outlining their transparency initiatives. Colleges have been asked to make transparency a priority and continuously increase transparency in their governance structures.

The Honourable Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care has requested all of Ontario's health regulatory colleges to submit a report to the Minister on their sexual abuse prevention programs and patient relation programs. The CMRTO submitted their response to the Minister on January 21, 2015.

CMRTO has been conducting an internal review of the CMRTO’s regulatory processes, using criteria from two other recent reviews of health regulatory colleges: the PriceWaterHouse Coopers (PWC) review of the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO), and the voluntary review of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) completed by the independent regulatory expert, Sir Harry Cayton. The findings of this internal review were presented to the CMRTO Council at its meeting in March 2015 and were also approved by Council at the same meeting.

At its meeting on March 27, 2015, Council reviewed and approved the CMRTO Transparency Review and directed staff to develop a project plan for the implementation of the Transparency Review recommendations and the transparency initiative. At the June 18 and 19 Council meeting, Council approved the CMRTO Transparency Project and Regulatory Review and Implementation Plan.

On November 28, 2014, CMRTO submitted its response to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care’s directive that health regulatory colleges make transparency a priority and make tangible strides to continually increase transparency in college governance structures. This second transparency report, a review, was conducted by CMRTO with a view to comparing and contrasting the CMRTO’s response to the MOHLTC, with those of other health regulatory colleges.
