Not really sure how these fees are being used, if I knew what they were for, I wouldn’t be so upset they were increasing.

The cost is already astronomical compared to other health professions. My sister is a medical doctor and she pays approximately the same as us! If the number of registrants has gone up by that much, the amount being submitted to the college every year has obviously gone up a tremendous amount as well.

The recent influx of sonography members fees aren't enough? My wage certainly doesn't reflect the cost of living changes..why aren't you fighting for that?

I vote NO !!Q! cost of living is increasing however I wage is not . This is unfair. There know way we should have to pay more. Nurse pay way less then us and they are a bigger college .

We have added ultrasound technologists and increased student enrollment. Auditing is done electronically now and all payments processed electronically. I'm unsure how increasing enrollment and increasing efficiencies results in additional fees to each registrant. If anything, our costs should be going down.

I do not think it is fair to increase the fees. I also think CMRITO has done nothing for us especially during the pandemic - it did not speak up for any of us and did not fight for our rights for pandemic pay nor did it ensure that we had proper PPE. CMRITO left this all to the hospitals or wherever Medical practices to deal with and now they want a raise in fees? Get a life.

Please don’t increase CMRITO annual fee. It’s already high. It’s four times more than ARDMS annual fee.

Its not acceptable already too much

Obviously not in favor of an increase. I wish the cmrito would explore other avenues of saving money rather than making members pay more. This could include getting rid of or relocating the head office to a more affordable area. To have members endure more suffering on their birthdays is especially cruel.

It feels unfair to see our fees increased when there is an abundance of technologists. In fact, considering the current workforce levels, a fee reduction, similar to what has been done in nursing, would be more reasonable

First of all, what kind of facilities you guys provide to the registrants. $500+ doesn’t provide us any benefit like free CMEs or PLI. We have the get everything on our own. When we register with Sonography Canada, we get free CMEs and also we can get PLI. Getting registered with CMRITO is another money grabbing scheme. Can someone tell us what’s the salary of the president of CMRITO what’s their role ?

Fees should not increased. We already pay alot in fees and we are essential workers that never get rewarded or recognized. On top of spending every day of our life helping others, we should not have to pay more fees for what we do

Please do not increase fees.

This is completely unacceptable. With the cost of living and housing continually increasing you expect us to not only have a increase in 2026 but again in 2026 and 2028. This is ridiculous. You said the number of registered MRTs has increased by 80%. That mean you are already making 80% more now than you were making in 2011 when the price was last increased. The RN group pays significantly less than what the MRTs have to and there are way more RNs then MRTs. With that in mind an increase of 80% in the registration numbers should actually result in a drop in our fees not an increase year after year. Fees and the continually increasing them can impact the amount of students who wish to become an MRT when comparing professions in helth care. Why go to the group with the smaller number who pay more fees when you can become an RN and pay less fees and have a way stronger voice as a body of employees. I see it continually how the RN group has everything a bit better than the MRTs do, and you want to increase our annual fees for the next 3-4 years. How is this possibly acceptable?

I think the fee increase is particularly unfair. I would like to review the expenses to understand why operating costs are so high and what has the college done to try and lower these costs. It is interesting that you want to include a cost of living, yet the registrants do not receive a mandatory cost of living increase in their wages. A proposal with the full list of expenditures and a small increase not 37% would be more acceptable. It appears there has been a poor mismanagement of funds and using fees paid by other colleges does not appear to be a strong argument for me to support this.

No

I am firmly against any increase in fees for members. The cost of living has ALSO increased FOR MEMBERS just as it has for the association. Wages have not increased for members to put us on par with inflation and this further hurts members who are already struggling financially. We do not have a choice as working mrts but to be a member of the college so this feels like taking advantage of us. With the addition of members of various modalities, this should reduce the cost to members since there are so much more people paying dues. We are already underappreciated and undervalued as a profession in our various work settings and it feels wrong to have our professional association also taking advantage of us in this way. I understand you are there for the public interest but without mrts, the association wouldn't exist so we should be considered somewhat too. I am a member of 3 professional associations total and already pay close to 1000% a year for this. More than any other profession i know of. I urge the association to not hit us financially when things are already difficult and rethink this decision. Signed, A hard working, experienced MRT who is proud of their profession and who already struggles financially.

I dont understand what services CMRITO has provides that warrants an increase. I have been a member for 5+ years and have seen no benefit

Don’t raise the fee. It is already insanely high compared with other countries. Cut your unnecessary programs instead
