In years past, nominations for Council were received in writing, and members eligible to vote cast their ballots by mail. However, in keeping with CMRTO’s Strategic Plan and movement in favour of web-based communications, Council passed By-laws No. 55 and 56 on September 25, 2015, allowing for electronic elections.
The CMRTO Council is made up of both members of the public, who are appointed by the provincial government and members of the profession, who are elected from the membership. Council is responsible for the governance of the medical radiation technology profession in Ontario. Council has ultimate accountability for meeting CMRTO's mission, and for how this is accomplished. The decision to run for election for this important position attests to an MRT’s commitment and dedication to the profession of medical radiation technology.
