The Council of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) is proposing amendments to the College's by-law framework.
As part of the CMRTO’s Transparency Implementation Plan, the Council committed to review and update its by-laws to improve plain language and format. The goal is to consolidate the CMRTO’s eight current by-laws into a single by-law that is more accessible and easier to understand.
In addition, the CMRTO began registering a fifth specialty, diagnostic medical sonography, on January 1, 2018. As a result, the current by-laws must be amended to integrate this new specialty into the College.
If approved, proposed By-law No. 60 will replace all existing CMRTO by-laws.
In accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, the proposed by-law is being circulated for 60 days to members and stakeholders for comment. Prior to finalizing the proposed changes, Council will consider all comments, keeping in mind the CMRTO’s mandate to protect the public interest.
We welcome you to review and comment on proposed By-law No. 60 by visiting the Consultations page on the CMRTO website.
The deadline for receipt of comments is September 7, 2018.
