Directive #2 for Health Care Providers limits surgery, medical procedures, diagnostic imaging and ambulatory clinical activity in hospitals and independent health facilities to those that are urgent and emergent, or are directly related to the provision of emergent or urgent surgeries, procedures or pain management services. The Directive also outlines how all non-emergent or non-urgent surgeries, procedures, diagnostic imaging and ambulatory clinical activity should be ceased, effective January 5, 2022.
CMRITO reminds medical radiation and imaging technologists who provide services to patients in hospitals and independent health facilities to follow the direction and guidance of your place of employment regarding the implementation of Directive #2 for Health Care Providers.
The CMRITO will continue to monitor directives and guidance provided by the Government of Ontario and the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and will share information that impacts the practice of medical radiation and imaging technologists by eblasts, social media posts, and updates to our
COVID-19 Information page.
Thank you for your continued commitment to your patients and their families over the last two years. Each and every day, you continue to provide exceptional care to your patients under extremely difficult conditions. On behalf of the CMRITO Council, committees, and staff, I extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you for your dedication, your perseverance, and your selfless service during this extraordinarily challenging time.
