Directive #2 Revoked

This update is to inform CMRITO members that Directive #2 for Health Care Providers has been revoked by the Chief Medical Officer of Health. The revocation of this directive reflects the health care system’s capacity to begin cautiously and gradually resuming non-urgent and non-emergent surgeries and procedures in public hospitals.

You may click here to read the memo from the Chief Medical Officer of Health outlining why this decision has been made and here to read the COVID-19 Directive #2 Questions & Answers. At the same time, Directive #2.1 has been updated to help maximize hospital system capacity and provide care to the most patients possible.

CMRITO reminds MRITs to follow the direction and guidance of your place of employment regarding the resumption of procedures and services in your facility. You can find the latest information and updates provided by the Government of Ontario and the Chief Medical Officer of Health on our COVID-19 Information page.

Thank you for your continued commitment to your patients and their families over the last two years. Each and every day, MRITs have continued to provide exceptional care to their patients under extremely difficult conditions. On behalf of the CMRITO Council, committees and staff, I extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you for your dedication, your perseverance, and your selfless service during this extraordinarily challenging time.
