Consent is an essential component of patient centered care, is vital for patient safety, and is required prior to performing any procedure. What you must know about … consent is an updated practice guideline that includes information for CMRITO members that:
- outlines the principles of informed consent
- identifies what MRITs must explain to patients before starting a procedure
- highlights sections of the Standards of Practice that outline the consent process and the obligations of MRITs
- provides a consent checklist identifying the things that MRITs must do before, during, and if they propose a procedure
