Maintaining your CMRITO registration in good standing is one of the most important legal obligations for all medical radiation and imaging technologists practising in Ontario. Under the Regulated Health Professions Act, all CMRITO registrants are required to renew their registration each year in order to be legally authorized to practise the profession of medical radiation and imaging technology in Ontario.
The due date for your renewal is your birthday. Notices are emailed to current registrants 30 to 60 days before the registrant's birthday. You must renew your registration online through theCMRITO Portal.
The annual fee is $531.10 ($470.00 fee, $61.10 HST).
If you do not pay your annual registration fee within 14 days after the due date (your birthday), your fee will be subject to a late penalty of $132.78 ($117.50 + HST).
If you do not renew your registration and pay the required fees within three months after your birthday, your certificate of registration will be suspended for failure to pay fees and you will no longer be legally authorized to work as a medical radiation and imaging technologist in Ontario.
If you currently are not working in Ontario, or are on a temporary leave, you may resign from the CMRITO and reinstate before you return to work.
If you know that you will be taking a leave or retiring within three months of your birthday, you may notify us now of your intention to resign within the three month period following your birthday. You may resign by completing the online Notice of Resignation.
Notices are emailed to current registrants 30 to 60 days before the registrant's birthday. You will also continue to receive the automated reminder emails about your renewal once the due date has passed.
You must complete the annual declaration questions, and update your registrant and health human resources information.
You may pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
The registration fee is non-refundable. However, if you resign prior to the next due date (your birthday), you will receive a fee credit pro-rated from the date on which you resigned to your renewal date. The fee credit will be applied automatically to your registration fee if and when you are reinstated, provided that you are reinstated within five years from the date of your resignation.
To reinstate with the CMRITO following suspension you must pay a penalty equal to the annual fee and a re-registration fee equal to the annual fee prorated by the percentage of the year remaining to your birthday, provided that the prorated amount is no less than 50% of the annual fee, and meet the registration requirements of the CMRITO. The fee for reinstatement following suspension will be no less than $796.65 and no more than $1,062.20 depending upon your individual circumstances.
If you have changed your name, you must submit an online request to change your name in the register. If you use a different name in practice, you can submit a request to add that name to your register record. To access these forms, sign in to theCMRITO Portal and select the tab 'Update Name in Register'.
