Reinstatement

If you are a past CMRITO registrant and intend to start practising the profession in Ontario again, you are required to reinstate your registration prior to starting to practice as a medical radiation and imaging technologist. You can start this process by completing the online Application for Reinstatement available on the CMRITO Portal for past registrants with a status of resigned or suspended for failure to pay fees.

You can reinstate your registration in a specialty in which you have been previously registered. To reinstate your registration in more than one specialty, you must complete an online Application for Reinstatement for each specialty.

More information on the reinstatement application can be found in the Reinstatement Application Guide.

Reinstatement following resignation:

You are eligible to reinstate your certificate of registration if:
  • you resigned in writing within the past five years
  • you can provide evidence that you have competently practised medical radiation and imaging technology in your specialty within the past five years, which includes a signed confirmation from your past employer
  • you have completed the CMRITO jurisprudence course prior to being reinstated
  • you pay the registration fee, the amount of which is pro-rated from the date of reinstatement to your birthday
You can find information about reinstating your registration when it has been over five years since you last practised the profession in any jurisdiction here.
