Regulations

Regulations made under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) affect the practice of medical radiation and imaging technologists, including: 

  • ONTARIO REGULATION 107/96 (Controlled Acts) which defines the three forms of energy under the Controlled Acts, and who may order and apply those forms of energy

  • ONTARIO REGULATION 59/94 (Funding for therapy or counselling for patients sexually abused by members)

Regulations made under the Medical Radiation and Imaging Technology Act (MRIT Act) directly affect the practice of medical radiation and imaging technology. These regulations include:

  1. Professional Misconduct
  2. Quality Assurance
  3. Registration
  4. Advertising
  5. Forms of Energy

Regulations made under the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act (HARP Act) define the safe limits of operation of x-ray machines in Ontario. The link to regulations made under the HARP Act may be found here.
