CMRITO is the regulator for medical radiation and imaging technologists and protects the public by making sure that only those individuals who are qualified to practise, and who will practise professionally, are legally permitted to practise the profession in Ontario. CMRITO is not an educational institution. CMRITO registers medical radiation and imaging technologists in five specialties: radiography, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance and diagnostic medical sonography.
You must hold a certificate of registration with the CMRITO in your specialty of medical radiation and imaging technology to be legally authorized to practise in your specialty in Ontario.
There are four types of applicants:
Canadian labour mobility applicants (medical radiation and imaging technologists who are currently registered to practise in another Canadian province where that specialty is regulated)
Canadian non-labour mobility applicants (Canadian graduates not currently registered with a provincial regulator or medical radiation and imaging technologists who practise in an unregulated province in Canada)
